God Patiently Waits

God is a loving Father, and there is no one like Him. Because of His affectionate nature, He desires to give us the very best. However, we often become too busy and distracted by our interests, thoughts, plans, and creative ideas to hear or follow His guidance. Since He alone is eternal, He is never hurried or rushed; we, as mere mortals, are bound by time limitations. The Apostle Peter wrote in 2 Peter 3:8-9, “You must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. Some people think the Lord isn’t being slow about His promise. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed but wants everyone to repent.” We owe Him unmatched praise for one simple reason: our loving Father is not like us. He never gives up on us. He is faithful even when we are unfaithful. He is long-suffering and never tires of us. He is loving, kind, compassionate, and, most of all, patient. Thanks be to God!
