We are a Kingdom-centered transformative community of faith that offers multigenerational ministries that extend beyond the walls of the church to impact the lives of children, youth, young adults, men, women, families and seniors in Charles County and beyond. We will not be a building where people come for a few hours each week to escape their reality, but we are a church where people are equipped to change their reality in Jesus’ Name.

In the sermon "What Was The Difference?" based on 1 Chronicles 29:10-20, Rev. Dr. David Scott draws a parallel between David’s unwavering faith in God when facing Goliath and the fear-driven hesitation of others, highlighting how trust in God’s power sets apart true courage. He challenges believers to reflect on their own faith and ask, “What makes the difference in our battles?”—emphasizing that reliance on God, not human strength, leads to victory.
In the sermon "God Don't Like Excuses!" based on Jeremiah 1:6-8, the focus is on how Jeremiah initially resisted God's call, claiming he was too young and unqualified, but God reassured him that He would equip and empower him for the task. The message challenges believers to stop making excuses and trust in God's strength and guidance, emphasizing that obedience to His call is more important than our perceived limitations.
In his sermon "But, If You Say So!" based on Luke 5:4-5, Pastor David Scott explores the profound moment when Simon Peter, despite his doubts and empty nets, responds to Jesus' instruction with unwavering trust: "But because you say so, I will let down the nets." Through this message, Pastor Scott challenges believers to adopt a posture of complete reliance on God, surrendering their logic and limitations to His divine wisdom, so that no matter the circumstance, their response is always, "If You say so, Lord!"
Every member of the Journey of Faith United Methodist Church has been uniquely called by God, equipped with gifts to build His kingdom and serve one another in love. Every gift serves to edify and build His church. Whether it's the gift of prophecy, speaking truth with faith and courage, or serving others through humble acts of kindness, each gift reflects the grace of God. Teaching imparts wisdom and understanding, while encouragement uplifts hearts with hope. The generous give freely, embodying God's provision, and leaders guide diligently, gently, lovingly, and faithfully, bringing order and direction. With every gift, God extends grace and mercy, bringing comfort to the weary. Likewise, the Spirit bestows wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, discernment, each working for the common good. Together, these gifts reflect the unity of the Spirit and the diversity of His work, reminding us that our calling is to be one body in Christ, bound by love and empowered by grace. At the Journey of Faith UMC, we live out this calling together, for His glory and the good of all.
We will respond within 48 hours!
